Founded in 1971, NCHS is a 501(c)3, NO KILL, non-profit, all volunteer organization, committed to the care and placement of homeless animals and feral cats. Helyn Spierdowis, President of NCHS, works tirelessly to find homes for cats, dogs, and small animals. (Helyn and Bandit pictured)
What We Do
NCHS does not have a shelter facility to visit. Instead, we use a combination of networking within the community, foster homes, and Bill shelters the dogs at Great Scott Kennel in Stoughton. The dogs in foster care are trained and evaluated by Dan Allman from K9Protective Services, Sharon. In addition, we network with Beaks and Noses to help the bird society. Pictured above is Ruby, a kitten currently in foster. We are also extremely fortunate to have the assistance of Lloyd's Animal Medical Center in Stoughton!
How You Can Help
NCHS relies heavily on donations to rescue animals, provide food and medical care. Rusty's owner moved out west and couldn't take Rusty with him (pictured above). He is a senior orange tiger cat, and was treated at Lloyd Medical Center in Stoughton to have a tumor removed. He lived one more year till the cancer came back and we were so happy we could be a part of his story. There are many ways you can help, including shopping at our new store.Learn More»
